I’ve had my latest project, knit from one of the mis-matched balls of mini-mochi, blocking for quite a while now. I decided that the two balls of yarn were not going to come together to form a happy union, so added to the challenge of the pastel colours present in one ball was now the challnge to knit something with 50g or less. Actually, two ’somethings’, each from 50g or less.
I’m experimenting quite a bit with this second idea. The Mini Mochi is a relatively loosely spun single-ply yarn, and I wanted to see how it would behave when combined with a lace pattern with added structural elements. I’m improvising as I knit this second project, so although I have a vague idea of what I am aiming for with the finished knit, whether it ends up at all representing that vision is yet to be seen.
